Creating Industry-Institute Computer Consultancy Group (IICCG) in a Technical Institution.

With reference to the requirements of NBA, NAAC, etc., Industrial Collaboration and Consultancy is essential for the benefit of the Institute in general and faculty, staff and students in particular; for raising funds and expanding their expertise. The Institute should take initiative in this direction. An Industry-Institute Computer Consultancy Group (IICCG) will consist of some of the interested faculty, staff and students, who are ready to work for IICCG, without foregoing their normal teaching – learning activities.

The process of forming of IICCG will be as follows:

  1. Constitution of the IICCG: The IICCG will consist of  the members, who
  2. Are interested in sparing some of their valuable time
  3. Are willing to work beyond normal duty hours
  • Have software developing expertise, and
  1. Are ready to work for the IICCG, without foregoing their normal teaching–learning activities.


  1. The Chief Coordinator of the IICCG can be ex-officio the HoD of CSE Department and/ or any Senior Professor of other Departments, or any person, as nominated by Principal of the Institute.
  1. Working of IICCG: The IICCG will be working in one or more phases, as and when required as mentioned below:
  2. Phase I: It is proposed to make a (draft) letter to the Senior Authority of an Industry, for “Value Addition” to the normal working of the industry, by attaching a leaflet (which will show the Expertise and Strength of the Institute in general) so that improvement can be made, by the involvement of the IICCG members.
  3. Phase II: A competent person of IICCG will prepare a list of nearby industries and organizations, with whom IICCG members can interact. He/ she will send the leaflet to the concerned industry and organization and physically meet them (if required) to convince them to get associated with IICCG for “Value Addition” to their normal working process and related procedures.
  • Phase III: After involvement with the competent authority of industry/ organization, some persons of IICCG will contact and interact with them and will try to understand the requirement from the working level people. After getting the details of the working procedure, SRS (Software Requirement Specification) will be made and then the SRS will be analyzed, and various design alternatives will be proposed. These will be shown to the working level people, who can suggest trying the options which seems to be a probable solution.

    This will be developed by IICCG and shown back to the working level people as version 1.

  1. Phase IV: The version 1 will be presented to the competent authority for finalization of work and consultancy terms and conditions of formal model of the software.
  2. Phase V: The formal version will be tested, implemented and commissioned at the premises of the industry/ organization.
  3. Phase VI: Iterations for SRS, Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Implementation and Commissioning from Phase III to Phase V will be carried out till the industry/ organization is fully satisfied and then the contract will be treated as completed.
  4. The “Value Addition Items” may be specified as
  5. Training to senior Officers, in the state-of-the-art technology
  6. Training of working Professors and Executives in the area, as required by the industry
  • Development of prototype provided to solve the ongoing problems of the industry
  1. Development of software and its training, as needed by the industry
  2. Conducting R&D activities for the industry by the IICCG group members
  3. Any other work, as specified by the industry and/ or suggested by IICCG group members
