A mega academic contest “Brainstorm-2016” was organized at Echelon Institute of Technology, Faridabad. The aim of this event was to encourage the non-medical students of 12th class to pursue engineering as their career. Students were given a test with 50 multiple choice questions on the pattern of JEE Main. This was a test of their intelligence and sharpness of mind and lasted for one hour. A total of 1496 students from 47 schools in Faridabad, Ballabhgarh & Palwal participated in the event.

After the test, students were offered lunch and were accompanied by their teachers to see the institute campus and were shown all the key areas like the library, computer center, workshops & laboratories, projects, hostels, gymnasium, playgrounds, etc. They were given an orientation about the engineering courses to generate scientific temper and develop inquisitiveness. This was followed by a cultural program by the students of the institute. “Zabar” band gave an electrifying performance and left the students spellbound. After that, the results of the contest were announced and prizes including laptops, tablets, digital watches, travel bags and scholarships worth Rs 3.34 Crores were distributed to the toppers.

The first three overall prizes of a laptop were bagged by Hardik Batra of St. Joseph School NIT-5, Rashi Satsangi of MVN School and Satya Shree Semantroy of DAV School Sec 49. Also, the toppers from each school were awarded a tablet, wrist watch and a travel bag for securing the first, second & third position respectively.

Chairman of the institute Sh Prabhat Agarwal addressed the students and gave a spiritual perspective to build confidence. He explained that tension is the root cause of inferiority complex. A consciousness rooted in responsibility, an ability to face circumstances, acceptance of failures, listening to your heart’s voice, following your love to turn your dreams into reality and being unattached is the foundation to living with clarity and confidence.
